Nick Bolletieri, eat your heart out...
Hi, my name is Jean-Martin. I am almost 9 years old and live in South Africa. My dream is to become a great tennis player; to play the grand slams - Wimbledon, French Open, US Open and the Australian Open. I realise this will not be easy, but with a lion's heart from Africa and a fierce fire burning in my heart anything is possible...
Current development, equipment and philosophy
My coach is a former European circuit singles and doubles player who presently coaches out of Durban. I use a Wilson Hammer 26" racket, and also like Head and Dunlop. My first racket was a Slazenger, followed by a Dunlop. Most times you'll catch me on court in Nike or Reebok. One day, these brands will sponsor me... My tennis philosophy is simple: to succeed, I must work hard and enjoy. Within the next few years I want to master the technical, mental, strategic and physical aspects of this wonderful game. To assist my development I cross train in the following sports: rugby, cricket, gymnastics, field hockey and swimming.
